Meet the Chiropractor

Dr. Christine (Chrissy) Mogannam, DC

Dr. Christine is the founder of Just Be Chiropractic, a continual learner of the human body and life. She has been studying health and the human body for 8 years so far. She studied Kinesiology in undergraduate school at San Diego State University. While in San Diego, she became a group fitness instructor. Although she no longer does this, she felt it was a great foundation for deepening her understanding movement and biomechanics of the body. Then she attended Life Chiropractic College West in the Bay Area, CA to earn her doctorate and graduated with Honors. While in school, Dr. Christine attended several seminars to learn more about adjusting, Bio Geometric Integration, craniosacral therapy, adjusting through the chakras, pediatric and prenatal care, and lastly womb massage. She is a GynoChiro initiate for external womb care.

During chiropractic school, her interest in women’s health expanded. During and after school she has spent hours of exploring many topics in regards to women’s health: menstruation, cycles, hormones, birth, prenatal, postpartum and the divine feminine energy. During her explorations on these topics as well as through her own experience being a women, she has realized women have been disempowered in trusting their body. These are the clients she is most passionate about serving, women who feel disconnected from their body and intuition. Therefore, one of her personal goals through her chiropractic and womb work, is to not only teach teens and women about their cycle, but also how to connect with their cycle and womb. Women are amazing because of our ability to create life and Dr. Chrissy believes it’s important for us to understand our reproductive system. She completed a Holistic Doula training and certification program after finishing chiropractic school to work with women as they prepare for birth and provide support postpartum. Through Just Be, she is building a community of women and families who value health and community.

In her free time, she enjoys doing anything outside in nature (typically barefoot): walking, hiking, laying at the beach, playing games. She also enjoys reading, exercising (bowspring and lifting weights), dancing, sipping on cacao (especially at Maya Moon Collective) and connecting with others. One of her favorite ways to connect with herself, spirit and others, besides through chiropractic, is through movement practices. For 10 years, she has practiced yoga, and her deeper understanding of the body through chiropractic education has shifted her understanding and the experience she feels with practicing yoga. She also has been lifting weights for 10 years as well and recently has learned how our muscle mass has an impact on hormone health. This is a fun way to challenge herself and shift her health and strength in her own body. She recommends to all her clients to find their preferred method of movement and encourages them to try new ways that may feel out of their comfort zone.

“The tone of your nervous system determines the tone of your life. This means if your nervous system is stressed, your life will be stressed. Similarly, if your nervous system is at ease, your life will be at ease. Changing the tone of your nervous system will change the tone of your life.”
